Consulting on Market

Consulting on Market

TABA has rich experience in undertaking consultancy work in the ecotourism industry.  Our approach to our consultancy work is based on applying the Market System Development (MSD) method to enhance sustainability for communities during the implementation of ecotourism enterprises.

WE use the MSD method to analyze, evaluate, and map the local tourism market system. A community’s business solutions are proposed based on a profound understanding of the local tourism market system and the domestic tourism market. Actors in the tourism value chain of a community’s district and province, and some neighboring provinces are identified as potential partners for that local community. In addition, during the search for tourism development solutions for the village, we focus on assessing a community’s potential, advantages in the tourism sector, and work with that community to collaboratively build a differentiated product strategy that identifies the market and understands the customers.

We also reassess the organizational structure and human resources machinery that aligns with the developed tourism product. Issues related to budget investment, risk management and environment are addressed. We conduct a survey and evaluation process simultaneously with community training to enhance the capacity of local livelihood groups and local cooperatives. A community development plan is developed that is based on the community’s perspective, consensus, and deep understanding of the issues identified during the survey and evaluation process. The tourism products that are identified in the process are determined based on local advantages and indigenous characteristics to enhance a community’s resilience against potential risks during the robust development of tourism in the present and future.
