On June 11-12, 2024, TABA successfully organized the Nature Landscape Conservation Festival at Bướt hamlet, Hợp Thành village, Chiềng Yên commune, Vân Hồ district, Sơn La province.
The event featured the participation of Ms. Lê Thị Thu Hường, representative of the sponsor – the Finnish Embassy; Ms. Đinh Thị Huyền, Director of the Northwest Cooperation Development Center; Mr. Hà Trọng Hiếu, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chiềng Yên commune; Mr. Vì Văn Phúc, Head of Hợp Thành village; and four inter-family groups from the community.
After an opening session introducing the program’s purpose and significance, community members came together to plant various ornamental plants and flowers, such as bougainvillea, five-color flower, wallflower, and chestnut trees along the village paths, creating green and vibrant floral walkways in Bướt hamlet.
On the second day of activities, villagers joined efforts to clean the village roads and collect waste at public areas, thereby helping to protect the living environment and natural landscapes while fostering a habit of not littering among both residents and visitors in Bướt hamlet.
Ms. Hà Thị Hiếm, team leader of the Bướt village tourism group, shared: “Bướt village is currently developing community tourism, so the support for planting is truly meaningful for the households. These activities not only allow residents and visitors to experience a clean and beautiful living environment but also contribute positively to building community tourism in Bướt.”
This initiative is part of the project “Conservation and Development of Landscape Systems in Tourism Development in Northern Mountain Provinces,” implemented by TABA and funded by the Finnish Embassy through the Local Cooperation Fund (FLC). The project will be carried out over two years, aiming to contribute to the preservation of natural landscapes at community tourism sites in Vân Hồ district, Sơn La province.
