WHAT WE DO
This project will enable the ethnic minority residents of Phu Mau Village to progress further towards economic autonomy by supporting the community to participate in agricultural and tourism marketplaces. An important part of this support is assisting the women of Phu Mau to improve their skills in preparing agricultural products after harvest, so that they meet the standards required by supermarkets and organic food stores. How food and agricultural products are packaged and labeled for sale are important skills that will assist the Phu Mau community to sell their organically and sustainably grown products.
In addition, the community is expanding the Agritage model of sustainable ecosystem in Phu Mau, to greatly increase the land being used to grow organic rice and cereal crops.
TABA and the people of Phu Mau are also working with an independent builder to construct additional ecotourism facilities. The project will allow the people of Phu Mau Village to show their beautiful village and organic farming practices to a much larger audience.
